In honor of International Women’s Day I’ll be celebrating a few of my favorite women.

First up: Taylor Swift

I think Taylor is one the best singer/songwriters around today. Her latest album Speak Now was written entirely by her. How many other musicians can claim that? Not many. She is also a pretty decent actress. I thought she did a great job when she hosted SNL.

I am a fan of Taylor Swift. So I heard this song before I read The Hunger Games. I wasn’t a big fan at first. However, after finishing the book I listened to it again and it made a lot more senese. I wouldn’t have thought Taylor would have been a good fit for the soundtrack for The Hunger Games, but I think she nailed it with this one.

Here’s a clip of the first single off Born and Raised, called “Shadow Days.” I’m excited to share the first bit of sound from the album… Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs. Enjoy.

I openly admit that I like John Mayer. I have been a fan since I was a junior in high school. The first concert I ever went to was one of his in Charleston, SC. So, it bummed me out when he said really stupid stuff, and (allegedly) hurt my girl, Taylor Swift. This song sounds like an answer to all of those things.
