Amusing thread in the Chromium forums asking for feedback about the decision to remove the “+” sign from the new tab UI in Chromium/Chrome. Most users seem very angry about such a change.

I’ll admit that like many in the forums, I thought it was a bug at first as well. Because without the “+”, it just looks like a UI artifact and not an actual button.

Also funny/interesting: the thought that Google removed it because it would confuse users with regard to Google+.

I thought it was a bug too! I wonder about Google’s software decisions sometimes.

OS X Mountain Lion:

Well, wouldn’t you know it? Apple can still surprise us.

I was of the opinion that Apple could no long keep a secret, but today I am happy to report that they still can.

Today Apple introduced the next version of ~~Mac~~ OS X, called Mountain Lion. Apparently starting a new yearly release cycle for OS X, Mountain Lion will be available at the end of the summer for an undisclosed price. Based on the fact that Lion was only $29 I would be willing to bet that Mtn. Lion will be less that even that.

My favorite new feature? A toss-up between Messages and Notification Center.

Bonus: If you have Lion you can install a beta version of Messages today.

I openly admit that I like John Mayer. I have been a fan since I was a junior in high school. The first concert I ever went to was one of his in Charleston, SC. So, it bummed me out when he said really stupid stuff, and (allegedly) hurt my girl, Taylor Swift. This song sounds like an answer to all of those things.

During a Boeing 787 test from Washington to Iowa, the pilots took a path that drew out ‘787’ and the Boeing logo. Pretty impressive.

I am extremely happy Emma is looking to have a promising career after her role as Hermione. I may have a huge crush on her, but I am also eager to follow her career as an actor. I saw her in ‘My Week Marilyn’ and even though she only had a small part, I thought she held her own alongside the incredible performance of Michelle Williams. Zooey was wonderful on SNL last night. It wasn’t an A+ show, in my opinion, but it certainly wasn’t because of her. After all, I don’t consider her a comedian. Her impression of Mary Kate Olsen was spot on. I also enjoyed the silent version of ‘Les Jeunes de Paris.’
